Mission Statement

Treating Autism exists to help people with autism and their families reach their potential and live life free of discomfort, anxiety and pain.

Treating Autism is a charity founded and run entirely by parent volunteers. Our members include parents and family members of people with autism; carers, dieticians, nurses, teachers and other professionals in the field of autism; and adults with autism who use biomedical approaches to improve their quality of life.

Our aims are:

  • To promote biomedical approaches to Treating Autism amongst parents, people with autism and professionals
  • To be a resource to support parents, people with autism and professionals who use biomedical approaches for Treating Autism
  • To lobby for and support research developing and evaluating biomedical approaches to Treating Autism
  • To campaign to ensure that appropriate and timely medical support is freely available for all people with autism
